(House Bill 801)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 233 of
Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Queen Anne's
County (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County", sub-title
"Fire Companies", said section having been last amended by
Chapter 60 of the Acts of 1959, to change annual appropriations
to fire companies in Queen Anne's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 233 of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Queen Anne's County (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County",
sub-title "Fire Companies", said section having been last amended
by Chapter 60 of the Acts of 1959, be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

233.

The county commissioners of Queen Anne's County are authorized
and directed to pay annually, on or before the 1st day of October of
each year, the sum of [two thousand dollars] three thousand, five
hundred dollars ($3,500.)
to each of the following named volunteer
fire companies: Goodwill Fire Company, Incorporated; The Sudlers-
ville Fire Company, Incorporated; Church Hill Fire Company In-
corporated; The Queenstown Volunteer Fire Company; Kent Island
Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., and Grasonville Volunteer Fire
Company, Inc., and the sum of [one thousand dollars] one thousand
seven hundred fifty dollars ($1,750.)
to Queen Anne-Hillsboro Vol-
unteer Fire Company, Incorporated, for the purchase, improvement,
maintenance and operation of fire apparatus and fire equipment for
the said volunteer fire companies. THE COUNTY COMMISSION-
ERS ARE AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO PAY ANNUALLY
AS PROVIDED HEREIN THE SUM OF THREE THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($3,500.) TO THE CRUMPTON VOL-
UNTEER FIRE COMPANY, INC., WHEN SAID COMPANY HAS
PRESENTED TO THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SATISFAC-
TORY EVIDENCE THAT THE COMPANY HAS COMPLIED
WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE MARYLAND FIRE UN-
DERWRITERS' RATING BUREAU APPLICABLE TO VOLUN-
TEER FIRE COMPANIES.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961 JANUARY 1, 1962.
