four years thereafter, there shall be appointed by the judges of the
People's Court a clerk for each court of the circuit; namely, one clerk
each for Marlboro, Hyattsville, Capital Heights and Laurel. Such
EACH JUDGE A CHIEF CLERK. SUCH clerks shall keep all
dockets of and supervise and manage the office of said court.
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the dockets and
records of arrest and convictions in traffic violations, and all other
traffic records, shall be kept by the clerks in such form and under such
plan as may jointly be agreed upon by the chief judge JUDGES of the
People's Court and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Each clerk shall
make proper report at periodic intervals of all traffic convictions to
the Department of Motor Vehicles in accordance with such agreed
plan, and, together therewith, shall make remittance of all revenues
due the State of Maryland from traffic violation fines and costs to the
Department of Motor Vehicles. The County Treasurer of Prince
George's County shall regularly audit the accounts and records of
said clerks and shall furnish the Department of Motor Vehicles and
the State Comptroller regularly a certificate attesting to the fact that
an audit verification of traffic violation fines and costs imposed in the
People's Court has been made, and that all fines and costs due the
State of Maryland have been remitted to the Department of Motor
Vehicles. Each clerk shall have custody of all monies paid into the
court for any purpose and shall deposit such monies promptly in an
account in his name in Prince George's County; each clerk shall
prepare, sign and deliver with appropriate remittances to county
and State officials such reports of fines, forfeitures and costs as are
required of trial magistrates by law; each clerk shall report the funds
in his custody regardless of which judge or judges may from time
to time preside in the court; the clerks shall perform such other
duties as shall be properly assigned to them by the judges of the
People's Court, and they shall receive such salary as shall be fixed
by the County Commissioners of said county in equal monthly install-
ments; the said clerks before entering upon their duties shall each
give bond to the State of Maryland in the penalty of ($25,000.00)
with corporate sureties satisfactory to said County Commissioners,
the premium of said bonds to be paid to the County Commissioners
of Prince George's County. The County Commissioners of Prince
George's County shall provide such additional clerical help as may
be necessary to carry out the administrative work of said courts at
salaries to be fixed by said County Commissioners.
(f) Every full-time judge of the People's Court for Prince
George's County shall be paid, after the termination of active service,
if he is then at least sixty-five years of age, or when he becomes sixty-
five years of age, a pension or salary calculated at the rate of four
hundred dollars ($400.00) per annum, for each year, or any part
thereof, of active service, up to and including twelve years of such
active service, so that the maximum pension or salary for such service
payable hereunder to any one person shall not exceed the sum of
four thousand eight hundred dollars ($4,800.00) per annum, pro-
vided, however, that no person serving less than twelve months as
a judge under this subsection shall receive a pension or salary, unless
such person involuntarily be caused to resign or to retire therefrom
because of sickness or physical incapacity or disability before the
termination of the prescribed minimum period of service. Provided
further, however, that any such judge who has retired or who
