Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1960 Supplement),
title "Justices of the Peace," sub-title "Civil Jurisdiction"; and to
add new Section 25B to the said Article of the Code (1957 Edition
and 1960 Supplement), sub-title "Criminal Jurisdiction," to follow
immediately after Section 25A thereof; and to add new Section 98A
to the said Article of the Code (1957 Edition), sub-title "Trial
Magistrates System," to follow immediately after Section 98
thereof; and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 99
of the said Article of the Code, and sub-title of the Code; and to
repeal Section 108 (16) of the said Article and sub-title of the Code,
and to enact a new Section 108 (16) in lieu thereof, to stand in the
place of the section so repealed; and to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, Sections 112 (a) and 119 (a) of the said Article and
sub-title of the Code (1960 Supplement); and to add new Section
119 (k) to the said Article and sub-title of the Code (1957 Edition
and 1960 Supplement), to follow immediately after Section 119 (j)
thereof; and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 120
of the said Article and sub-title of the Code (1960 Supplement);
and to add new Section 125A to the said Article and sub-title of
the Code, to follow immediately after Section 125 thereof; to repeal
provisions for trial magistrates in Prince George's County in order
to establish a People's Court for Prince George's County, and to
provide for the judges, the jurisdiction, and powers and duties of
the People's Court for Prince George's County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 6 (j) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1960 Supplement), title "Justices of the Peace," sub-title "Civil
Jurisdiction," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments; that new Section 25B be and it is hereby added to the
said Article of the Code (1957 Edition and 1960 Supplement), sub-
title "Criminal Jurisdiction," to follow immediately after Section
25A thereof; that new Section 98A be and it is hereby added to the
said Article of the Code (1957 Edition), sub-title "Trial Magistrates
System," to follow immediately after Section 98 thereof; that Section
99 of the said Article of the Code, and sub-title of the Code, be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments; that Section
108 (16) of the said Article and sub-title of the Code, be and it is
hereby repealed and that a new Section 108 (16) be and it is hereby
enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the section so re-
pealed; that Sections 112 (a) and 119 (a) of the said Article and
sub-title of the Code (1960 Supplement), be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments; that new Section 119 (k)
be and it is hereby added to the said Article and sub-title of the Code
(1957 Edition and 1960 Supplement), to follow immediately after
Section 119 (j) thereof; that Section 120 of the said Article and
sub-title of the Code (1960 Supplement), be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments; that new Section 125A be and it
is hereby added to the said Article and sub-title of the Code, to follow
immediately after Section 125 thereof, and all to read as follows:

(j) [In addition to the jurisdiction hereinbefore granted in this
section, trial magistrates in Prince George's County shall have civil
jurisdiction in all cases instituted after June 1, 1953, and involving
