500 JOINT RESOLUTIONS

No. 16
(House Joint Resolution 4)

House Joint Resolution urging the clerks of the Circuit Courts of
this State and of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore to display the
flags of the United States and of the State of Maryland in good
condition in all court rooms.

WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of the Young Lawyer's
Committee of the Maryland State Bar Association that some court
rooms in the State do not have the State and federal colors on display
therein, and

WHEREAS, The display of the Federal and State flags in good re-
pair in each of the court rooms in the State would improve decorum
and enhance the judicial atmosphere of court rooms, especially dur-
ing these perilous times, now therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the General
Assembly hereby urges each clerk of the circuit courts of the State
and of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore to display the Federal and
State flags in the court room

Resolved, That copies of this Resolution are sent to the Governor
of Maryland, the State Budget Director, the Maryland State Bar
Association Young Lawyer's Committee, and to the Director of the
Administrative Office of the Courts.

Approved March 23, 1962.

Boone upon his election as President of the Association of Legis-
lative Leaders.

The members of the House of Delegates of Maryland and their
colleagues in the Senate of Maryland join in hearty congratulations
to the Honorable A. Gordon Boone upon the occasion of his election
