CHAPTER 4
(Senate Bill 9)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 47 (a)
of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Courts", sub-title "Salaries of Judges", providing for in-
creases in the salaries of the Chief Judge and of the associate
judges of the Court of Appeals of Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 47 (a) of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Courts", sub-title "Salaries of Judges", be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

47 (a). The salary of the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals shall
be [twenty-two thousand dollars ($22, 000)] twenty-five thousand
five hundred dollars ($25, 500) per annum; the salary of each of the
associate judges of the Court of Appeals shall be [twenty-one thou-
sand dollars ($21, 000)] twenty-five thousand dollars ($25, 000) per
annum.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1962.
