(House Bill 31)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 38 and
39 of Article 65 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edi-
tion), title "Militia", sub-title "In General", to authorize the is-
suance of medals and certificates by the State of Maryland to
veterans who served in the Korean Conflict.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 38 and 39 of Article 65 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Militia", sub-title "In General", be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
38.
In order to reward those citizens of Maryland who volunteered
in the Spanish-American War, or who served in any subsequent war
or who served in the Korean Conflict between June 25, 1950 and
July 27, 1953, the Governor shall have power, under regulations to
be prescribed by him, to issue medals of appropriate designs, to
officers and enlisted

BRANCHES OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED
STATES.
39.
In recognition of the services rendered by those citizens of Mary-
land who served in the various branches of the armed forces of the
United States in World War II or who served in the Korean Con-
flict between June 25, 1950 and July 27, 1953, the Governor is hereby
authorized and empowered, under such rules and regulations as he
shall determine and prescribe, to issue certificates of appropriate
designs to the officers and ENLISTED personnel who served in any
of the various branches of the armed forces of the United States.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1962.
