"Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments", sub-title
"State Civil Defense", said sections hereafter to be numbered
respectively as Sections 1 to 12, inclusive, of a new Article 16A of
said Code, title "Civil Defense", said Article 16A to follow im-
mediately after Article 16 thereof and said Sections 1 to 12, in-
clusive, to be under the new sub-title "Maryland Civil Defense
Act", recodifying and changing the Code references to the Mary-
land Civil Defense Act of 1949 now found in Article 41 of said
Code.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 232 to 243, inclusive, of Article 41 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Governor—Executive and
Administrative Departments", sub-title "State Civil Defense", be and
they are hereby renumbered and recodified, said sections hereafter to
be numbered respectively as Sections 1 to 12, inclusive, of a new
Article 16A of said Code, title "Civil Defense", said Article 16A to
follow immediately after Article 16 thereof and said Sections 1 to 12,
inclusive, to be under the new sub-title "Maryland Civil Defense
Act".

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1962.

(Senate Bill 116)

AN ACT to add new Sections 13 to 31, inclusive, to Article 16A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Civil De-
fense", (said new Article having been added to the Code by legisla-
tion enacted by the General Assembly of 1962), said new sections
to follow immediately after Section 12 thereof and to be under the
new sub-title "Civil Relief", relating to the extension or suspension
of the enforcement of certain civil liabilities of persons in civil
defense service or of persons suffering injury or damage during
any effective period in an area officially proclaimed by the Governor
as a civil defense emergency or disaster area, actual or threatened.

SECTION 1. "Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 13 to 31, inclusive, be and they are hereby added
to Article 16A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Civil Defense", (said new Article having been added to the
Code by legislation enacted by the General Assembly of 1962), said
new sections to follow immediately after Section 12 thereof, to be
under the new sub-title "Civil Relief", and all to read as follows:
