NOTE

There were two bills vetoed by the Governor of Maryland follow-
ing the Special Session of March 9, 1962. Both were Senate bills.

Section 17 of Article 2 of the Constitution of Maryland, as last
amended in 1960, provides that vetoed bills are not to be returned to
the legislature for reconsideration when a new General Assembly
has been elected and sworn since the passage of the bill. Accordingly,
because of the elections in 1962, these vetoes would have been final if
the General Assembly had not met in special session prior to the
swearing-in of the General Assembly of 1963.

The two vetoes were voted upon and sustained at the Special
Session which convened on May 25, 1962.
