The Secretary of State appeared and delivered a Message from the
Executive.

PROCLAMATION BY THE GOVERNOR OF MARYLAND

Convening the General Assembly of Maryland in

Extraordinary Session at Annapolis, Maryland

Friday, March 9, 1962 at 10: 00 A. M.

WHEREAS, The convening of the General Assembly of Maryland in
special session is justified in order to consider appropriate legislative
measures for equality of public accommodations in this State;

Now, THEREFORE, I, J. Millard Tawes, Governor of the State of
Maryland, by virtue of the authority conferred upon and invested in me
by the Constitution of Maryland, do hereby call a special and extra-
ordinary session of the General Assembly of Maryland, to begin at
10 o'clock A. M. on Friday, March 9, 1962, in the State Capitol in the
City of Annapolis, State of Maryland.

Given Under My Hand and the Great Seal of the State of Maryland,
at the City of Annapolis, this 7th Day of March, in the Year of Our
Lord, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Sixty-two.
