MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE

The Secretary of State appeared and delivered a message from the
Executive.

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT

May 3, 1961.

Hon. George W. Della
President of the Senate
403 Warren Avenue
Baltimore 30, Maryland

Dear Mr. President:

I have today vetoed Senate Bill No. 214 and in accordance with
the provisions of Article 2, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution,
I am returning this bill to you along with my veto message.

This particular bill was designed to permit an additional three-day
open season for the hunting of antlerless deer in five counties in our
State.

House Bill No. 408, which, among other things, accomplishes this
same result, was signed into law on April 24, 1961.

In order to prevent any duplication, I feel it necessary to veto this
Senate Bill.

With kindest regards, I remain

Sincerely yours,

(s) J. MILLARD TAWES,

Governor.
