TAX ACT", TO EXEMPT CERTAIN SALES BY GROCERY
STORES AND SALES OF CERTAIN ICE-CREAM PRODUCTS FROM
THE RETAIL SALES TAX, ETC.

Amendments to Senate Bill No. 7
By the Ways and Means Committee:

Amendment No. 1—In lines 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the title of the third
reading file bill, strike out the following: "exempt certain sales by grocery
stores and sales of certain ice-cream products from the retail sales tax
and defining the term 'grocery store' for the purposes of this sub-title"
and insert in lieu thereof the following: "exclude certain items of food
from the imposition of the retail sales tax".

Which amendment was read and adopted.

Amendment No. 2—Strike out all of lines 20 to 34, inclusive, of sub-
section (f) on Pages 1 and 2 of the third reading file bill and insert in
lieu thereof the following: "(1) The sale of alcoholic beverages regard-
less of the place of consumption; and the sale of any meals, food or
drink for human consumption on the premises where sold. For the pur-
poses of this section the word 'premises' shall include, among other
places, parking lots connected with the place where the food is sold".

Amendment No. 3—Strike out all of lines 59 to 65, inclusive, of
sub-section (e) on Page 2 of the third reading file bill and insert in lieu
