SPECIAL SESSION
Annapolis, Maryland, June 9, 1961.
STATE OF MARYLAND, TO WIT:
This being the day appointed by the Governor for a Special Session
of the General Assembly at 11: 00 o'clock P. M.
Mr. James Mause, Clerk of the House of Delegates during the regu-
lar session of January, 1961, called the House to order and after the
offering of prayer by Rev. William H. Hudnut of Baltimore County.
The Reading Clerk called the roll and the following members an-

Mr. Boone, duly seconded, moved to elect Hon. Perry O. Wilkinson
of Prince George's County, Speaker of the House of Delegates for the
Special Session, June 9, 1961.
Messrs. Boone and Reed escorted the Speaker to the Rostrum.
Oath was administered by the Chief Clerk to Hon. Perry O. Wilkinson
as Speaker for the Special Session of the House of Delegates, June 9, 1961.
REMARK BY THE SPEAKER
I want to thank you, the Members of the House, for your confidence
in re-electing me your presiding officer for this extra session.
We are here to keep the good laws passed during the recent 90 day
session on the books, and with your cooperation we will do just that.
I know that we will handle the business before us with speed and
dispatch so as to be a credit to our constituents of this great State of
Maryland. So, let us all cooperate in passing the legislation for which
this session was called.
