Proviso.

satisfaction that it is necessary or proper to confine
such lunatic, idiot or person insane, to direct such
trustee to send the person under his charge to the hos-
pital in the vicinity of the city of Baltimore: Provided,
He can be there received, to remain until the further
order of the court of chancery.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the chancel-
lor shall have power, at any time to order and direct
the removal to the said hospital of any lunatic, idiot or
person insane, who hath heretofore, under his direc-
tion, been sent to any hospital or receptacle in Phila-
delphia, and to enforce his order as in other cases.

tion of an act
of 1797 repeal-
ed.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the seventh
section of the act of assembly, passed at November
session one thousand seven hundred and ninety-seven,
entitled, "an act relative to proceedings in the court
of chancery and land offices, and to the real estate of
persons dying intestate, " be and the panic is hereby
repealed.

CHAPTER 22.

1813.

An act authorising the several banks in this state to loan
money to the state of Maryland.

Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That each of the several banking; in-
stitutions within the state of Maryland, be, and here
by are authorised to loan to the said state any sum of
money not exceeding in amount one-third of its capi-
tal actually paid in.

Preamble

An act for the payment of the journal of accounts.
WHEREAS, It appears by the journal of accounts
of this session, that there is due from the state the sum
of nine thousand eight hundred and forty seven dol-
lars and twenty eight cents:

Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the treasurer of the Western
Shore shall, and he is hereby authorised and required
to pay the several persons, their executors, adminis-
trators, assigns or order, or to such of them as shall
offer to receive the same, the several sums of current
money allowed to them respectively as they appear to
be settled and ascertained by the said journal of ac-
counts, out of any money now in the treasury, or that
shall come into the treasury, subject to the appropria-
tion of the general assembly.
