(d)  It shall be the duty of the Fire Marshal to enforce the rules
and regulations adopted under the provisions of this section, to order
the removal of any fire hazard and to make any repairs and improve-
ment to comply with said rules and regulations, and to report to
the County Commissioners all violations of such rules and regulations
and the names of all persons who refuse to comply with his orders
for repairs, removal of fire hazards, etc. Any person ordered by the
Fire Marshal to make any repairs or improvements shall have the
right of appeal to the Commissioners, and from the decision of the
Commissioners he shall have a right of appeal to the Circuit Court
of Somerset County.

(e)  Any person violating the provisions of this section or the rules
and regulations promulgated under its authority or any lawful order
of the Fire Marshal shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon con-
viction thereof shall be subject to a fine of not more than One Hun-
dred Dollars ($100.00) for each such violation.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 656
(House Bill 559)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 14 of
Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "State Roads", sub-title "In General" relating to signatures
on certain State Roads plats and permitting privately or publicly
owned utility companies to locate their facilities in proposed State
Roads right-of-ways under certain conditions.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 14 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title 'State Roads", sub-title "In General", be and is hereby amended
to read as follows:

14. Upon the completion of the aforementioned plats or maps,
and upon ascertaining the amount to be paid to the property owners
affected thereby, or into court for their use, the [said] cover sheets of
each set of
plats or maps shall be signed by the chairman of the State
Roads Commission, and then SAID PLATS AND MAPS INCLUD-
ING THE COVER SHEETS SHALL BE recorded with the secretary
of said Commission, with the office of the Secretary of State of Mary-
land in his office at Annapolis, Maryland, and with the clerk of the
circuit court of the county or counties through which the proposed
new highway or reconstructed highway traverses, or with the clerk
of the Superior Court of Baltimore City, as the case may be, and it
shall be the duty of the secretary of the State Roads Commission,
the Secretary of State of Maryland and the several clerks of court
of the State of Maryland, to record the above referred to plats or
maps and keep same as permanent public records of their respective
