CHAPTER 649
(House Bill 517)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 204A to 204X, inclusive, of Article 9 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), as
enacted by Chapter 749 of the Acts of 1957, title "Charles County",
sub-title "Metropolitan District", deleting from the Local Laws for
Charles County the Act which created the Charles County Metro-
politan District Commission and which set forth the government,
operation, powers and duties of said Commission and all matters
relating thereto.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 204A to 204X, inclusive, of Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), as enacted by Chap-
ter 749 of the Acts of 1957, title "Charles County", sub-title "Metro-
politan District", be and they are hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

Approved April 28, 1959.

CHAPTER 650
(House Bill 522)

AN ACT to add six new sections to Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Licenses", to be under
a new sub-title "Trading Stamp Companies", said new sections to
be known as Sections 239 to 244, inclusive, and to follow imme-
diately after Section 238 of said Article; and to repeal Sections
564 to 573, inclusive, of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishment", sub-
title "Trade — Trading Stamps", relating to the regulation of
trading stamp companies, trading stamps and their issuance and
repealing existing regulations with respect thereto.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That six new sections be and they are hereby added to Article 56
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Licenses",
to be under a new sub-title "Trading Stamp Companies", said new
sections to be known as Sections 239 to 244, inclusive, and to follow
immediately after Section 238 of said Article, and to read as follows:

Trading Stamp Companies
239. As used in this sub-title:

(a) The term "trading stamp" means any stamp or similar device
issued in connection with the retail sale of merchandise or service,
