CHAPTER 643
(House Bill 498)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 14 of
Article 31B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Defective Delinquents", sub-title "Application", providing
that the provisions of the Defective Delinquent law in this State
shall apply to those persons over 18 years of age convicted
ADULTS FOUND GUILTY and sentenced by a Juvenile Court
in the counties of this State.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 14 of Article 31B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Defective Delinquents", sub-title "Applica-
tion", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
14. Nothing in this article shall be construed to extend to or
affect any case in a juvenile court or in the court of a magistrate
for juvenile causes, or any person involved in such case, unless the
juvenile court judge shall have waived jurisdiction in the case so
that it may be heard and adjudicated in a regular criminal court.
Provided however that the provisions of this Article shall apply to
any person over the age of 18 years, sentenced for a crime or pro-
vided herein, ADULT who has been tried and convicted FOUND
GUILTY AND SENTENCED by one of the several Juvenile Courts
in this State when said Juvenile Court is exercising its original
jurisdiction as provided in Sections 53 and 55 of Article 26 of this
Code. THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1957 EDI-
TION).
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 5(B) of
Article 25A, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Chartered Counties of Maryland", sub-title "Express Pow-
ers", heading "County Property and Franchises", relating to the
power of charter counties to grant perpetual franchises or rights in
relation to any real or leasehold property belonging to the county
and any highway, street, road, lanes, alley or bridge of such coun-
ties; and to repeal the requirement that all dispositions of property
