CHAPTER 591
(Senate Bill 501)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 207 of
Article 17 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
as amended by Chapter 843 of the Acts of 1945, relating to the
salary and control of the jailer in St. Mary's County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 207 of Article 17 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), as amended by Chapter 843 of the Acts of 1945, be
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
207. The keeper of the jail of Saint Mary's County as compensa-
tion for his services for attending to the prisoners and the sanitary
condition of the jail and the rendering of such other services towards
taking care of the prisoners as the sheriff may direct, shall be allowed
by the County Commissioners a salary of not exceeding [$100] $200
per month. The keeper of the jail shall be under the control of the
County Commissioners.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 (g) of
Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact", sub-title "State's
Attorneys", increasing the expense account of the State's Attorney
for St. Mary's County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (g) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact",
sub-title "State's Attorneys", be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
40.
(g). The State's Attorney of St. Mary's County shall receive an
annual salary of $3,000, and the State's Attorney of Charles County
shall receive an annual salary of $5,000.
The State's Attorney of St. Mary's County shall be allowed
[eighteen hundred] thirty two hundred FORTY TWO THIRTY-
SIX HUNDRED dollars [($1,800.00)] ($3,200.00) ($4,200.00)
($3,600.00) annually for clerical expenses. INCIDENTAL TO HIS
OFFICE, . FOR WHICH HE SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED TO
ACCOUNT.
