10.01.03.04 Hospital In-Patient Program
On pages 34 and 35 of the printed bill under the
heading "Department of Health", under the
sub-heading "Medical Care Services", and in
the program "Hospital In-Patient Program",
strike out the entire text and insert in lieu
thereof the following:
General Fund Appropriation for the purchase of
hospital in-patient care in the thirty-five (35)
General Hospitals and seven (7) Special Hos-
pitals listed in the program and performance
statement for individuals whose financial status
is determined by the local Department of Public
Welfare under policies established jointly by
the State Department of Public Welfare and
the State Department of Health.
Payments for care rendered in General Hospitals
prior to January 1, 1960, shall be the lesser of
billings to other patients for like services or a
rate determined as follows: 80% of the hos-
pital's approved per diem cost not to exceed
60% of the State-wide weighted average cost;
except that hospitals having a per diem cost
above $13.00, of which 80% would be less than
$13.00, shall be reimbursed at $13.00, and hos-
pitals having a per diem cost of less than
$13.00 shall be reimbursed at cost. Payments
for care rendered in General Hospitals on and
after January 1, 1960, shall be the lesser of
billings to other patients for like services or
