and who had rendered thirty years of service as a teacher and died
while on leave of absence for illness shall receive a special allowance
in the amount of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per month. In order
to be entitled to such special allowance, the widow must have been
married to the former teacher for a period of not less than three
years prior to his death. A widow who is entitled to a special allow-
ance under the provisions of this section shall be paid for the period
of her natural life unless she remarries, in which event the special
allowance is immediately to cease and terminate. The Board of
Trustees is hereby authorized and directed, subject to the annual
appropriation of the necessary funds, to make the special allowance
herein provided for PROVIDED THAT THE APPLICATION OF
THIS SECTION SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE WIDOWS OF
TEACHERS WHOSE DEATHS DID NOT ENTITLE SUCH
WIDOWS TO ANY CONTINUING RETIREMENT OR PENSION
BENEFITS UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUB-TITLE
OTHER THAN AS PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1959.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 2 of
Chapter 792 of the Acts of 1957, relating to the occupation of
barbering in this State and including Anne Arundel, Howard,
Somerset and Worcester Counties in the provision of said Chapter.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 2 of Chapter 792 of the Acts of 1957, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
2. That nothing in this Act shall apply to or within [Anne
Arundel,] Calvert [, Howard, Somerset or Worcester Counties]
County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
