CHAPTER 51
(House Bill 39)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 313 of
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Health—Dangerous
Drugs", removing certain obsolete words from the law concerning
the penalties applicable to a violation of the dangerous drugs law.
Whereas, in Section 313 of Article 27 of the Code, there is super-
fluous language in the section relating to the penalties applicable to
a violation of the dangerous drugs law; and
Whereas, these superfluous words are meaningless and should
be removed; now, therefore
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 313 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Health-
Dangerous Drugs", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
313. Penalty.
Any person, firm or corporation who violates any of the pro-
visions of this sub-title, or refuses, neglects or fails to comply with
the provisions and requirements hereof [,or fails to comply with
the provisions and requirements hereof!, shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall, for the first of-
fense, be fined not more than $250.00, for the second, or subsequent
offense not more than $500.00.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 52
(House Bill 40)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 33 and
36 of Article 88A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Ed-
ition), title "State Department of Public Welfare", sub-title
"Training Schools for Delinquent Children", correcting errors and
incorrect references therein, and clarifying the provisions of said
sections having to do with the several training schools for de-
linquent children.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
