Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the aforegoing section
hereby proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of this State,
at the next general election to be held in this State in the year 1960,
shall be submitted to the legal and qualified voters thereof for their
adoption or rejection in pursuance of the directions contained in
Article XIV of the Constitution of this State, and at the said gen-
eral election the vote on the said proposed amendment shall be by
ballot and upon each ballot there shall be printed the words "For
the Constitutional Amendment" and "Against the Constitutional
Amendment," as now provided by law, and immediately after said
election, due returns shall be made to the Governor of the vote
for and against said proposed amendment as directed by Article
XIV of the Constitution and further proceedings had in accordance
with said Article XIV.

CHAPTER 445
(House Bill 83)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 69 of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Public Education", sub-title "County Board of Education",
relating to audit by County Commissioners of Anne Arundel Coun-
ty. "AND TALBOT COUNTY"; AND PROVIDING FOR A
FISCAL YEAR FOR THE BOARD OF EDUCATION IN ANNE
ARUNDEL COUNTY"

Section 1. Be in enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 69 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
(1957 Edition), title "Public Education", sub-title "County Board
of Education", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

69.

Each county board of education shall hereafter provide for at
least an annual audit of its business and financial transactions and
of the accounts of its treasurer by an accountant or accountants ap-
proved by the State Superintendent of Schools, and the results of
this audit shall be made public by the county board of education.
Provided, that the county boards of education of Allegany, Anne
Arundel, Calvert, Cecil, Charles, Wicomico, Garrett, TALBOT and
Montgomery counties shall also submit to the boards of county com-
missioners of their respective counties within thirty (80) days after
the close of its fiscal year each year an annual report containing the
following information: (1) A statement showing the source, and ap-
plication of all funds received and expended by it, and the balance re-
maining in each account; (2) a consolidated statement showing the
