Notwithstanding IN WICOMICO COUNTY AND IN THAT POR-
TION OF SOMERSET COUNTY EXCLUSIVE OF THE MANO-
KIN RIVER, NOTWITHSTANDING the provisions hereinabove in
this subsection, any citizen of Maryland who holds a current license
for the taking or catching of oysters by tongs may take or catch
oysters from any lands leased for the purpose of planting and culti-
vating oysters, with the written permission of the lessee of such
lands. The modification in this paragraph of the provisions herein-
above in this sub-section is only to the extent specifically indicated.
All other applicable laws, rules and regulations concerning the tak-
ing or catching of oysters from such leased lands shall continue to
be applicable in all respects.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 444(a) of
the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edi-
tion, being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), as amended by Chapter 13 of the Acts of 1955, title "Balti-
more City", sub-title "People's Court", relating to costs in the
People's Court of Baltimore City.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 444 (a) of the Charter and Public Local Laws of Balti-
more City (1949 Edition, being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), as amended by Chapter 13 of the Acts of 1955,
title "Baltimore City", sub-title "People's Court", be and the same
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
444(a). Subject to the provisions of Section 446, before any of
the following acts or services shall be performed in connection with
any action or proceeding in the People's Court, there shall be paid
to the Chief Constable of the People's Court for the use of the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore City the following fees and costs:
For filing, trial costs and memorandum in actions
ex-contractu and ex-delicto—One Defendant..................... [$2.00] $3.00
For amended statement of claim—
One Defendant................................................................................................ [ 2.00] 2.00
For each additional defendant in original suit.................. [ 1.00] 1.50
