Every justice of the peace other than a trial magistrate or a
substitute trial magistrate, and every clerk to a trial magistrate
(except in Montgomery [County] and Prince George's Counties),
shall, before entering upon his duties, give a corporate bond simi-
larly conditioned, in the amount of $1,000.00.
The premiums of all bonds required by this sub-title shall be paid
by the county commissioners or county council.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

(House Bill 422)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 14 of
Article 62 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Marriages", relating to the marriage license fees to be
charged in Allegany County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 14 of Article 62 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Marriages", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
14. When one or both parties are residents of the State of Mary-
land, the clerk of the court shall receive two dollars for every license
issued as aforesaid and for the performance of the other duties
required by this article; where both parties are nonresidents of the
State of Maryland, the said clerk shall receive three dollars for every
license so issued. In Allegany, Baltimore, Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester,
Garrett, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Washington counties,
and in Baltimore City, said clerks shall be paid an additional two
dollars for every license and shall remit monthly the proceeds of said
additional fee to the county treasurer of their respective counties
at the end of every month for use as general funds of said county;
except that the clerk of the Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore
City shall remit and shall include the proceeds of the additional fee
in his annual return to the State Comptroller of all his fees, emolu-
ments and receipts under the provisions of Section 25 of Article 17
of this Code.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
