CHAPTER 38
(Senate Bill 129)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 9(31) of
Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "What Shall Be Taxed and
Where", relating to a tax exemption for the Talbot County His-
torical Society.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 9(31) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "What
Shall Be Taxed and Where", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
9.
(31) Property, real and personal, owned by the Historical So-
ciety of Frederick County, Inc., [and] the Montgomery County
Historical Society, Inc., and the Historical Society of Talbot County,
Maryland, Inc.
Sec. 2. Be it further enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That payment of any taxes delinquent as of the effective date
of this Act and owned by the Historical Society of Talbot County,
Maryland, Inc., to the State of Maryland or any of the political sub-
divisions is waived and the said taxes are abated.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 39
(Senate Bill 130)
AN ACT to add a new Section 32 to Article 30 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Deaf, Mute or Blind", sub-title
"Miscellaneous", to follow immediately after Section 31 thereof,
defining the word "blind" for all the purposes of said Article 30.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 32 be and it is hereby added to Article 30 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Deaf, Mute
or Blind", to follow immediately after Section 31 thereof, and to read
as follows:
32. For the purposes of this Article, the word "blind" means
visual acuity not to exceed 20/200 in the better eye with correcting
