(House Bill 182)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1588 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953
Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Washington
Suburban Sanitary District", said section being also Section 74-53
of the Montgomery County Code (1955 Edition), being Article 16
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery
County", sub-title "Washington Suburban Sanitary District", as
said sections were last repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
by Chapter 357 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1955, relating generally to the authority of the Washington
Suburban Sanitary Commission to enter into contracts or agree-
ments with other public authorities so as to include the authority
to enter into contracts or agreements with water, sewerage and
drainage commissions, to provide that agreements may be made
with such agencies and authorities located not only in the State
of Maryland but in adjoining states, and to authorize the Com-
mission to enter into agreements with the other authorities herein
mentioned in matters pertaining to water supply, sewerage, drain-
age or refuse disposal systems without a specific enumeration of
purpose or subject matter.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1588 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County (1953 Edition), and Section 74-53 of the Montgomery County
Code (1955 Edition), being, respectively, Articles 17 and 16 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, titles "Prince George's
County", and "Montgomery County", sub-title "Washington Sub-
urban Sanitary District", as said sections were repealed and re-
enacted by Chapter 357 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1955, be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
1588 (74-53). Said Commission shall have full power and authority
to enter into any contracts or agreements with the Commissioners
of the District of Columbia [or] and with any Federal, State, County
or municipal authority, and with any public water, sewerage or
drainage commission, [for the connection of its water supply, sewer-
age and drainage systems with those of the District of Columbia,
or with those owned by any Federal, State, County or municipal
corporation, for the purchase of water from or the sale to the District
of Columbia, or any other type of agency specified herein, and for
the disposal of sewage and drainage from the Sanitary District;
and to enter into any agreement] concerning any [other] matter
necessary, advisable or expedient for the proper construction, mainte-
nance and operation of the water supply, sewerage, drainage or
refuse disposal systems under its control or those under the control
