(1957 Edition), title "Publication of Laws", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

6.

Sections 4 and 5 shall not apply to Montgomery, HOWARD,
Washington, Somerset, Wicomico, Worcester or Dorchester counties.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 192

(House Bill 221)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 108 (22)
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Trial Magistrates System",
relating to the collection of certain poundage fees by the People's
Court of Wicomico County and the payment of the same to the
County Treasurer.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 108 (22) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title
"Trial Magistrates System", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

108.

(22) Wicomico County.—There shall be one trial magistrate who
shall sit at Salisbury and shall receive an annual salary of three
thousand dollars ($3,000.00), the said trial magistrate so appointed
to be known as the judge of the People's Court.

There shall be appointed biennially by the judge of the People's
Court a clerk who shall keep all dockets of and supervise and
manage the office of the People's Court of said county and said
clerk shall perform such other duties as shall be properly assigned
to him by the said judge and he shall receive an annual salary of the
sum of not less than two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), to be paid him
in twelve equal monthly installments by the County Commissioners
of Wicomico County and may be increased at any time by the said
County Commissioners from county funds; the said clerk before
entering upon his duties shall give bond to the State of Maryland
in the penalty of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) with corporate
surety satisfactory to said County Commissioners, the premium of
said bond to be paid by the County Commissioners of Wicomico
County. The Sheriff of Wicomico County shall receive for his services
