easterly with said existing Regional District Boundary to the place
of beginning.

(3) No municipal corporation within either of the areas added by
this sub-section to the Regional District shall be authorized, by means
of an amendment to its charter or otherwise, to exercise any of the
powers relating to planning, sub-division control, or zoning now or
hereafter granted by this Article to the Commission or the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County. If this section shall for
any reason be held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be in-
valid, it is hereby declared to be the intention of the General As-
sembly that this sub-section is severable and that the remaining
portions of this sub-section would have been enacted without the
invalid portions.

(E) 1959 ADDITION IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY.—THE
FOLLOWING DESCRIBED AREAS WITHIN PRINCE GEORGE'S
COUNTY ARE ADDED TO THE MARYLAND-WASHINGTON
REGIONAL DISTRICT:

(1)  BEGINNING AT A POINT WHICH IS ABOUT ONE
THOUSAND (1,000) FEET NORTHWEST OF THE PRESENT
CENTERLINE OF THE BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON BOULE-
VARD, SAID POINT BEING THE POINT OF INTERSECTION OF
THE PRESENT MARYLAND-WASHINGTON REGIONAL DIS-
TRICT BOUNDARY LINE WITH A LINE ONE THOUSAND
(1,000) FEET NORTHWEST OF AND PARALLEL TO THE PRES-
ENT CENTERLINE OF THE BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON BOU-
LEVARD; THENCE GENERALLY NORTHEASTERLY ABOUT
2.6 MILES ALONG THE AFORESAID LINE TO ITS INTER-
SECTION WITH THE PRESENT SOUTHERLY BOUNDARY
LINE FOR THE TOWN OF LAUREL; THENCE GENERALLY
EASTERLY AND NORTHEASTERLY ABOUT 1.5 MILES ALONG
THE AFORESAID TOWN BOUNDARY LINE TO ITS INTER-
SECTION WITH THE COMMON BOUNDARY LINE BETWEEN
PRINCE GEORGE'S AND ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTIES; THENCE
GENERALLY SOUTHEASTERLY ABOUT 7.2 MILES ALONG
THE AFORESAID COUNTY BOUNDARY LINE TO ITS INTER-
SECTION WITH THE EASTERLY BOUNDARY OF THE UNITED
STATES DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR, PATUXENT RESEARCH
REFUGE, AS DESCRIBED JANUARY 1, 1957, AND THE EX-
ISTING REGIONAL DISTRICT BOUNDARY LINE; THENCE
GENERALLY SOUTHERLY, SOUTHWESTERLY, NORTH-
EASTERLY AND WESTERLY ABOUT 11.4 MILES ALONG THE
EXISTING REGIONAL DISTRICT BOUNDARY AND, THE
SPRINGFIELD-HILLMEADE ROAD AND THE ODELL ROAD TO
THE POINT OF BEGINNING.

(2)  BEGINNING AT A POINT WHICH IS THE POINT OF
INTERSECTION OF THE CENTERLINE FOR THE CRAIN HIGH-
WAY (U. S. NO. 301) WITH THE PATUXENT RIVER AND THE
EASTERLY BOUNDARY LINE OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUN-
TY; THENCE GENERALLY SOUTHERLY ABOUT 12.2 MILES
ALONG THE AFORESAID BOUNDARY LINE TO ITS INTER-
SECTION WITH THE PRESENT DIVIDING LINE BETWEEN
ELECTION DISTRICT NO. 7 (QUEEN ANNE) AND ELECTION
