State income tax of unemployment insurance payments.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 280 (r) be and it is hereby added to Article 81 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Revenue and
Taxes", sub-title ''Income Tax", to follow immediately after Section
280 (q) thereof, and to read as follows:

(r) Payments of benefits under the unemployment insurance laws.
(R) UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE BENEFITS UNDER
AND PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 95 OF THE ANNOTATED CODE
OF MARYLAND (1957 EDITION) BUT SUCH BENEFITS OR
PAYMENTS MADE UNDER A SUPPLEMENTAL UNEMPLOY-
MENT PLAN ESTABLISHED BY A PRIVATE EMPLOYER
SHALL NOT BE EXCLUDED HEREUNDER.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1959.

AN ACT to add new Section 100 to Article 35 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Evidence", to follow imme-
diately after Section 99 thereof, and to be under the new sub-title
"Chemical Tests for Intoxication", establishing certain tests for
the amount of alcohol in the defendant's blood in any criminal
prosecution for a violation of the laws concerning driving or
attempting to drive motor vehicles while under the influence of
intoxicating liquor, establishing the evidential effect of such tests,
and relating generally to evidence and motor vehicles in the State.
