J. MILLARD TAWES, GOVERNOR                          1079

of the libraries of said courts, and one-half of the fines and recog-
nizances received by the city treasurer of Baltimore City from the
justices of the peace in Baltimore City and the Sheriff of Baltimore
City, as adjudged by and accruing in the criminal courts of Balti-
more City, and collected and received by or through the said sheriff,
shall be paid by the city treasurer to the Library Company of the
Baltimore Bar for its use and benefit, said sum to the Library Com-
pany of the Baltimore Bar not to exceed, however, in any year the
sum of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00). This section not to
apply to Queen Anne's, Anne Arundel and Talbot counties. No com-
mission or charge shall be paid to any clerk of the court for collecting
and paying over said fines. In Baltimore County, this section shall
not apply to fines imposed in gambling cases.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 715
(House Bill 840)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 518 of
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Sabbath Breaking",
changing the hours of operation of bowling alleys in Baltimore
County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 518 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Sabbath
Breaking", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

518. Nothing contained in Sections 492 or 522 of this Article,
shall be construed as prohibiting, penalizing or making unlawful
the operation of any bowling alley, tenpin alley or duckpin alley in
Baltimore County between the hours of midnight Saturday and
[1 A. M.] 2 A.M. Sunday and after [2 P. M.] 10 A. M. 1 P. M. on
Sunday with or without a charge or fee.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

Approved April 28, 1959.

of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
