06. 08. 00. 03 Salary Increases for State Employees

General Fund Appropriation, for the purpose of
granting salary increases to employees under
the jurisdiction of the Standard Salary
Board who are at the maximum of their
respective scales, in accordance with the
recommendations and intent of the Commit-
tee on Taxation and Fiscal Matters as con-
tained in its 1959 report. The appropriation
to be allocated by budget amendment to the
various State agencies as may be necessary
to supplement the agency appropriations in-
cluded in this budget.

General Fund Appropriation........................ 1, 125, 000

From Special and Federal Funds, for the pur-
pose of granting salary increases to em-
ployees under the jurisdiction of the Standard
Salary Board who are at the maximum of
their respective scales, in accordance with
the recommendations and intent of the Com-
mittee on Taxation and Fiscal Matters as
contained in its 1959 report. Authorization is
hereby granted to use Special and Federal
Funds for this purpose, in the amount of
$375, 000, to be payable out of revenues and
grants which are the source of funds for the
payment of budget appropriations payable
out of Special and Federal Funds; this
amount being estimated and it being the in-
tention that the actual amount, whether it
be more or less, shall be made available in
allocating by budget amendment to the vari-
ous State agencies the amounts necessary to
supplement the appropriations for salaries in
this budget.

06. 08. 00. 04 Scale Adjustments

General Fund Appropriation, for payments re-
quired as a result of re-study and scale ad-
justments pursuant to the provisions of Sec-
tion 27 of Article 64A of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1959 Supple-
ment); the appropriation to be allocated by
budget amendment to the various State
agencies as may be necessary to supple-
ment the agency appropriation for salaries
included in this budget.

General Fund Appropriation........................ 957, 600

From Special and Federal Funds, for payments
required as a result of re-study and scale
adjustments pursuant to the provisions of
Section 27 of Article 64A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1959
Supplement). Authorization is hereby granted
to use Special and Federal Funds for this
purpose, in the amount of $297, 400, to be
