SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1, 1960.

CHAPTER 99

(Senate Bill 94)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 260 of
Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and
1959 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "Appeals",
providing that an appeal to the Maryland Tax Court does not stay
the decision of the State Department of Assessment and Taxation
, UNLESS THE TAXPAYER FILES A BOND TO THE STATE.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 260 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition and 1959 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes",
sub-title '"Appeals", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

260.

[Except as to ordinary taxes on real or leasehold property, ] [n]
No appeal shall stay or in any manner affect the collection or en-
forcement of the assessment, tax, levy, or classification complained
of unless the taxpayer shall file with the agency responsible for col-
lection thereof a bond to the State of Maryland, with corporate
surety to be approved by the Department, conditioned upon the pay-
ment of such assessment and all interest accruing thereon until paid.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1960.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3 of Ar-
ticle 49B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"Interracial Commission", subtitle "Commission to Study Problems
Affecting the Colored Population" clarifying the powers and duties
of the Interracial Commission AND CHANGING THE SUB-
