the Needy Blind", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments; and that Section 2 of Article 70A of said Code, title "Old
Age Assistance", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, both to read as follows:
Article 30
11. Definitions.
As used in this sub-title "State Department" means the State De-
partment of Public Welfare, created under Article 88A of the An-
notated Code of Maryland, and any amendments thereto or supple-
ments thereof.
"County board" means the county welfare board of the several
counties in this State or the department of public welfare of Balti-
more City, created and existing under Article 88A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland and any amendments thereto or supplements there-
of.
"Applicant" means a person who has applied for public assistance
under this subtitle.
"Recipient" means any person who is receiving, or who at any time
has received, public assistance under this subtitle.
"Public assistance" means money payments to needy blind indivi-
duals and payments necessary for services for such individuals.
Article 70A
2. Definitions.
As used in this article, "State Department" means the State De-
partment of Public Welfare created under Article 88A of the An-
notated Code of Maryland and any amendments thereto or supple-
ments thereof.
"County department" means the county welfare board of the
respective counties in this State, created and existing under Article
88A of the Annotated Code of Maryland, and any amendments thereto
or supplements thereof, and includes the department of public welfare
of Baltimore City as created and existing under Sec. 82 of the Charter
of Baltimore City (1949 Ed. ) with the powers, limitations and re-
strictions imposed by Article 88A and any amendments thereto or
supplements thereof.
"County" shall be construed to include the City of Baltimore, unless
otherwise specified herein.
"Applicant" means a person who has applied for assistance under
this article.
"Recipient" means a person who is receiving, or who at any time
has received, assistance under the terms of this article.
"Assistance" means money payments to needy aged individuals
and payments necessary for services f or such individuals.
"Supplementary services" means services other than money pay-
ments to needy aged individuals, including payments toward funeral
expenses of such individuals as provided in this article.
