CHAPTER 72
(House Bill 127)

AN ACT to add new Section 126A to Article 66C of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-
title "Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish", sub-heading "Hunt-
er's License", to follow immediately after Section 126 thereof,
relating to and requiring a big game stamp for the hunting of
deer in the State, in addition to the regular hunting license.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 126A be and it is hereby added to Article 66C of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural
Resources", sub-title "Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish", sub-
heading "Hunter's License", to follow immediately after Section 126
thereof, and to read as follows:

126A. (a) All persons hunting deer in the State of Maryland
must first procure a big game stamp to so hunt, shoot or kill. The
stamp is required in addition to the regular season license for hunt-
ing of other game, except that no stamp is required of persons who
may hunt without a license as provided in Section 128 of this article.

(b) The big game stamp may be obtained from the clerks of the
circuit courts of the counties, the clerk of the Court of Common
Pleas of Baltimore City, and from duly authorized agents of the
Game and Inland Fish Commission. The cost for a big game stamp,
firearms only, is

LARS ($2. 00); and for bow and arrow only, three dollars ($3. 00).
The clerk or agent shall retain as compensation for issuing each
stamp the sum of twenty-five cents ($. 25), and the balance of the
fee is paid over and accounted for in the same manner provided for
under Sections 129 and ISO of this article.

(c) The clerk or agent shall write or stamp the date of issuance
on the face of all big game stamps issued pursuant to this section,
and each such stamp shall be adhesively affixed to the back of the
regular season hunting license of the person to whom the stamp is
issued, and such person shall sign the same in ink. Failure to affix
the stamp to the license and to sign it before hunting, as above pro-
vided, shall be a violation of this section.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1960.
