(b) In Charles County, clerical assistants shall be appointed by
the trial magistrates of said county, and shall, on and after January 1,
1959, receive an annual compensation of $2,400 $3,000.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

(House Bill 411)
AN ACT to add new Section 79A to Article 9 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Charles County,"
sub-title "County Commissioners," to follow immediately after
Section 79 thereof, relating to an appropriation APPROPRIA-
TIONS by the county commissioners of Charles County for certain
library facilities, AND THE MAINTENANCE THEREOF.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 79A be and the same is hereby added to Article
9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Charles County," sub-title "County Commissioners," to follow im-
mediately after Section 79 thereof and to read as follows:
79A. The County Commissioners of Charles County are hereby
authorized to appropriate the sum of $20,000 from general funds of
the county for library facilities, the same to be located within three
miles of the Indian Head, Potomac Heights areas of Charles County.
79A. THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CHARLES COUN-
TY ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO APPRO-
PRIATE A SUM OF $20,000 FROM GENERAL FUNDS OF THE
COUNTY IN THE YEAR 1957 FOR LIBRARY FACILITIES, THE
SAME TO BE LOCATED BETWEEN INDIAN HEAD AND
BRYANS ROAD, NEAR STATE ROUTE 210; AND TO APPRO-
PRIATE SUCH SUMS OF MONEY ANNUALLY THEREAFTER
AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN SUCH FACILITIES.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
