CHAPTER 456
(Senate Bill 174)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 251 (b) of
Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Operation of Vehicles Upon High-
ways", providing that tow trucks may display a flashing red light
while at the scene of an accident. OR A DISABLED MOTOR
VEHICLE.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 251(b) of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Operation of
Vehicles Upon Highways", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
251. (Special Restrictions on Lamps.)
(b) No person shall drive or move any vehicle or equipment upon
any highway with any lamp or device thereon displaying a red light
visible from directly in front thereof. This section shall not apply
to authorized emergency vehicles. This section shall not prohibit the
display of a flashing red light by tow trucks while at the scene of
an accident OR A DISABLED MOTOR VEHICLE, and while en-
gaged in safeguarding, repairing or towing a vehicle.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),

in a place accessible to children, of any abandoned or unattended or
uncrated AND DISCARDED ice box, refrigerator or freezer cabinet
which IS UNCRATED AND has a door or a lock which cannot be
released for opening from the inside thereof. Any person, firm or
corporation violating any of the provisions of this section shall, upon
conviction thereof, be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and fined not
more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or imprisoned in jail for
not more than thirty (30) days, in the discretion of the Court. Each
day such violation is committed or permitted to continue shall con-
stitute a separate offense and be punishable in such.
