General Fund Appropriation for Payments to
Physicians, Dentists, Pharmacists, Hospitals
and Nurses, for Medical Care to indigent
and/or medically indigent persons for the

All or part of this appropriation may be
transferred to the State Department of
Public Welfare by approved budget amend-
ment in the event that the Board of Public
Works determines that such transfer is
necessary and desirable in order for the
State to be eligible to receive Federal
matching funds for medical care; further,
all or any portion of this appropriation may
be used for such matching purposes; and in
the event such a transfer of this appropria-
tion from the State Department of Health
to the State Department of Public Welfare
is made, the Board of Public Works shall ap-
prove a plan for continuing the programs
of medical care under the provisions of
Article 43, Sections 42 and 43, of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, 1951 Edition.
10.01.03.03 Baltimore City Medical Care Program
General Fund Appropriation.................................. 961,887
Of the amount of $961,887 hereby appropri-
ated $920,470, or any portion thereof, is to be
made available for payments to physicians,
dentists, pharmacists, hospitals and nurses
for medical care to indigent and/or medically
indigent persons in Baltimore City according
to a plan approved by the State Board of
Health, and the amount of $41,417, or any por-
tion thereof, is to be made available for admin-
istration of the Baltimore City Medical Care
Program.
All or part of this appropriation may be trans-
ferred to the State Department of Public Wel-
fare by approved budget amendment in the
event that the Board of Public Works deter-
mines that such transfer is necessary and de-
sirable in order for the State to be eligible to
receive Federal matching funds for medical
care; further, all or any portion of this appro-
priation may be used for such matching pur-
poses; and in the event such a transfer of this
appropriation from the State Department of
Health to the State Department of Public Wel-
