out of Special and Federal Funds; this amount
being estimated and it being the intention
that the actual amount, whether it be more or
less, shall be made available in allocating by
budget amendment to the Employees' Retire-
ment System—Division of Social Security.
To Baltimore City for the State's share of the
contributions for Baltimore City Teachers if
Social Security coverage is provided, or to pro-
vide an amount equivalent to the cost of any
additional benefits not included in the budget
estimate submitted by the State Superinten-
dent of Schools, effected in lieu of Social
Security, but not to exceed the calculated cost
of Social Security for City Teachers on the
same basis as afforded County Teachers. The
amount herewith appropriated being an esti-
mate, it is intended that the amount paid
Baltimore City shall be the actual amount re-
quired. PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT
THE GENERAL FUND APPROPRIATION
FOR SOCIAL SECURITY COVERAGE OR
EQUIVALENT BENEFITS FOR BALTI-
MORE CITY TEACHERS SHALL NOT BE
AVAILABLE FOR ANY OTHER PUR-
POSE AND SHALL REVERT TO THE
GENERAL FUNDS OF THE STATE TO
THE EXTENT NOT USED FOR SUCH
SPECIFIC PURPOSE.
