(House Bill 417)

PASSED OVER GOVERNOR'S VETO*

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 651 (b)
of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Natural Resources," sub-title "Oysters and Clams," provid-
ing that IN ANNE ARUNDEL AND CALVERT COUNTIES a
license shall not be required for the taking or catching of up to
one bushel of oysters for the use and consumption of the person
taking them and not being for sale or marketing.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 651 (b) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Natural Resources," sub-title "Oysters
and Clams," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments to read as follows:

551.

(b) Licenses. No person shall take or catch oysters or clams for
market in the waters of this State who has not been duly licensed as
provided in this sub-title. In no event shall a license be required
under the provisions of this sub-title IN ANNE ARUNDEL AND
CALVERT COUNTIES for any person to take or catch up to one
bushel of oysters for his own use and consumption, and not for
sale or marketing.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
