56                                Laws of Maryland                         [Ch. 44

Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "State Roads", sub-title "Bridges", sub-headings "Bear Creek
Bridge" and "Weights of Vehicles Passing Over Bridges", correct-
ing errors in said sections as they appear in the 1951 Code, in
order to carry out the intent of the sections as originally enacted
by Chapter 539 of the Acts of 1931.

Whereas, Article 89B of the 1951 Edition of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, because of a printing error, contains two sections with
the number "85" instead of having Section 85 and Section 86; and

Whereas, the same error is responsible for incorrect wording and
an omission of language originally included in the second of these
sections, as first enacted in Section 65 of Chapter 539 of the Acts
of 1931; and

Whereas, there is also an error in the cross reference contained
in the first of these sections, to other sections in Article 23 of the
Code, this error resulting partly from the subsequent repeal of some
of the sections originally referred to in the cross reference, by
Chapter 494 of the Acts of 1947; and

Whereas, it is desirable that these errors be corrected in order
that they not be perpetuated in future editions of the Code, and in
order also that the true intent and language of Sections 64 and 65
of Chapter 539 of 1931 will be reflected in the Code; now therefore

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 85 and 86 (the latter being mistakenly numbered also
as Section 85) of Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "State Roads", sub-title "Bridges", sub-head-
ings "Bear Creek Bridge", and "Weights of Vehicles Passing Over
Bridges", be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

85.    None of the provisions contained in Section [167 to 173] 186
to 139,
inclusive of Article 23 of the Code of Public General Laws
of this State shall be deemed to be applicable to said bridge or to
said Company, its successors and assigns with respect thereto.

[85. None of the provisions contained in Sections 167 to 173,
inclusive,]

86.    The State Roads Commission shall have the power and right
to
regulate the weights of wagons, trucks, road engines, road rollers,
traction engines, threshing machines or other vehicles of any kind
passing over any bridges or culverts included in the State Roads
Systems and the rate of speed of such vehicles while passing over
the same by posting and maintaining conspicuously at both ends of
or entrance to said bridges or culverts signboards with lettering not
less than three inches in height, worded as follows, to wit: "Warn-
ing—Weight not to exceed (here insert numerals) pounds, Speed not
to exceed (here insert numerals) miles per hour", which shall be
taken to mean that no vehicle of any kind, as above enumerated
weighing, with or without any load which may be in or upon the
same, more than the number of pounds specified on said signboard,
shall pass or be drawn, driven, propelled or in any other manner
