of Maryland, title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title 'Tire Com-
panies", said new sections to be known as Sections 332M to 332P,
inclusive, and to follow immediately after Section 332L of said
Article, as said Section 332L was enacted by Chapters 69, 70 and
133 of the Acts of 1955, relating to the levy of a special fire tax in
ALL OF the First, Second, Fourth, and Fifth Precincts of the
Third Election District of Anne Arundel County EXCEPTING
THE THIRD PRECINCT THEREOF.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That four new sections be and they are hereby added to the Anne
Arundel County Code (1947 Edition), being Article 2 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Anne Arundel County,"
sub-title "Fire Companies", said new sections to be known as Sections
332M to 332P, inclusive, to follow immediately after Section 332L of
said Article, as said Section 332L was enacted by Chapters 69, 70 and
133 of the Acts of 1955, and to read as follows:

332M. (a) The provisions of this section shall apply to and be
effective in the First, Second, Fourth, and Fifth
ALL OF THE Pre-
cincts of the Third Election District of Anne Arundel County
EX-
CEPTING THE THIRD PRECINCT THEREOF.

(b)   The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County are
hereby authorized and directed to levy for the year 1958 and annually
thereafter a fire tax of five cents on every One Hundred Dollars
($100.00) of the assessed value of all real and personal property
located in the First, Second, Fourth, and Fifth
ALL OF THE Pre-
cincts of the Third Election District
EXCEPTING THE THIRD
PRECINCT THEREOF.

(c)   The said fire tax shall be levied and collected in the same
manner as other State and County taxes are now levied and collected.

(d)   The proceeds of said fire tax shall be paid by the County
Commissioners semi-annually on June 30 and December 31 of each
year, in equal portions, to each of the following eight volunteer fire
companies, to wit: the Orchard Beach Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.;

the Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.; the Lombardee

Beach Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.; the Powhatan Beach Volunteer

ire Company, Inc.; the Green Haven Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.;
the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.; the Earleigh Heights

Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.; and the Arnold Volunteer Fire Com-

pany, Inc. VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANIES LOCATED IN ALL
OF THE PRECINCTS OF THE THIRD ELECTION DISTRICT,
EXCEPTING THE THIRD PRECINCT THEREOF, WHICH HAVE
BEEN APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS
OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY AND WHICH HAVE BEEN AP-
PROVED, ACCEPTED AND RECOGNIZED BY THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, AND WHICH
ARE OTHERWISE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE PUBLIC FUNDS.

332N. The funds received by the eight volunteer fire companies
specified in Section 332M shall be used for the purpose of purchasing,
repairing, replacing, operating and maintaining its fire fighting
equipment and apparatus, and other vehicles, and the housing of the
same; provided, however, that no payment or disbursement of any
of said funds shall be made by any such fire company or the treasurer
