(House Bill 382)
AN ACT to repeal Section 151A of Article 15 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Kent County",
sub-title "County Commissioners" as said section was last amended
by Chapter 80 of the Acts of 1943, and to re-enact said Section 151A
to be new Section 151D of said Article 15, said new section to follow
immediately after Section 151C thereof as enacted by Chapter 97
of the Acts of 1933, raising the payments to certain Volunteer Fire
Companies of said county and adding thereto the Kennedyville
Volunteer Fire Department.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 151A of Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Kent County", sub-title "County
Commissioners", as said section was last amended by Chapter 80
of the Acts of 1943, be and it is hereby repealed; and that a new Sec-
tion 151D of said Article 15 be and it is hereby enacted, said new
section to follow immediately after Section 151C thereof as enacted
by Chapter 97 of the Acts of 1933, to read as follows:
151D. The County Commissioners of Kent County are hereby
authorized and directed to pay in each and every year, the sum of
One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.) to the Betterton
Volunteer Fire Company, the sum of One Thousand Five Hundred
Dollars ($1,500.) to the Millington Volunteer Fire Company, the sum
of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.) to the Galena
Volunteer Fire Company, the sum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.)
TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2,500.) to the
Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company and the sum of One Thousand
Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.) to the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire
Company and the sum of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($1,500.) to the Kennedyville Volunteer Fire Department and the
said County Commissioners are authorized to levy yearly upon the
assessable property of Kent County a rate of tax sufficient to produce
the sum or sums so to be annually paid to the said fire companies.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
