three years from the making of such records without constituting an
offenses OFFENSE under such laws. THIS SECTION DOES NOT
APPLY TO MINUTE BOOKS OF CORPORATION CORPORA-
TIONS NOR TO RECORDS OF SALES OR OTHER TRANSAC-
TIONS INVOLVING WEAPONS, OR POISONS OR OTHER DAN-
GEROUS ARTICLES OR SUBSTANCES CAPABLE OF USE IN
THE COMMISSION OF CRIMES.
3. If in the regular course of business a person makes reproduc-
tions of original business records, the preservation of such reproduc-
tions constitutes compliance with any laws of this State requiring
that business records be kept or preserved.
4. Nothing in this Article shall be construed to diminish the au-
thority of an officer of this State under existing law to permit the
destruction of business records.
5. This Article shall be so interpreted and construed as to effec-
tuate its general purpose to make uniform the law of those states
which enact it.
6. This Article may be cited as the Uniform Preservation of
Private Business Records Act.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That all acts or parts of acts
which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby
repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1, 1957.

(House Bill 38)
AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to
issue the certificates of indebtedness of said corporation to an
amount not exceeding One Million Dollars ($1,000,000), the pro-
ceeds of the same to be used for the acquisition, by purchase, con-
demnation or any other legal means, of land or property, or any
rights therein, in the City of Baltimore, and for constructing,
erecting and equipping buildings, structures and facilities to be
used by the Police Department of Baltimore City for or in connec-
tion with any and all of its functions and activities, and for re-
constructing, enlarging, extending, improving, renovating, mod-
ernizing and equipping existing buildings, structures and facilities
of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore now being used by,
or under the jurisdiction of, the Police Department of Baltimore
City for or in connection with any and all of its functions and
