AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 8(32)
of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "What Shall Be Taxed and
Where", providing that house trailers designed for human habita-
tion shall not be deemed motor vehicles for the purposes of assess-
ing property taxes. THE LOCAL PROPERTY TAX IN HAR-
FORD COUNTY.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 8(32) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "What
Shall Be Taxed and Where", be repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

(32) Motor Vehicles, Classes A to J, inclusive. Nothing herein
shall be construed to exempt house trailers designed primarily for
human habitation from the assessment of property taxes, THE
LOCAL PROPERTY TAX IN HARFORD COUNTY, notwithstand-
ing any fees paid to the Department of Motor Vehicles for the priv-
ilege of the use of the highways by such house trailers.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1, 1957.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 2 of
Article 49B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Interracial Commission", to provide for the appointment
of an executive secretary under the provisions of the merit system.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 2 of Article 49B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Interracial Commission", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
2. The members of said Commission shall not receive any com-
pensation for their services but shall be paid the reasonable neces-
sary expenses while engaged in the discharge of their official duties.
The [Governor] Commission shall appoint an executive secretary
[for a term of two years] who shall be paid such compensation as
