CHAPTER 203
(Senate Bill 226)
AN ACT to add new Section 661B to Article 66C of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1956 Supplement), title
"Natural Resources", sub-title "Oysters and Clams", to follow
immediately after Section 661A thereof, prohibiting the private
leasing of certain submerged areas in Dorchester County for
oyster cultivation for a specified period.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 661B be and it is hereby added to Article 66C of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1956 Supple-
ment) , title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Oysters and Clams", to
follow immediately after Section 661A thereof, and to read as fol-
lows:
661B. The Department of Tidewater Fisheries, notwithstanding
any other provisions of this Article, shall not, for a period of five
years beginning on June 1, 1957, lease any of the submerged areas
of this state in Dorchester County for the purpose of the cultivation
of oysters. Nothing in this section shall be construed to affect or ap-
ply to any existing valid lease made prior to and effective on June
1, 1957, nor to the renewal of any such lease.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 204
(Senate Bill 245)
AN ACT to add Section 42 (e) to Article 43 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Health," sub-title "Miscel-
laneous Provisions," to follow immediately after Section 42 (d)
thereof; and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3
of Article 88A of said Code, title "State Department of Public
Welfare", sub-title "Board of Welfare," authorizing the State De-
partment of Health to contract with the State Department of Pub-
lic Welfare for supplying medical services to certain indigent per-
sons and relating to the responsibility and plans for medical care
to public assistance clients.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Health", sub-
title "Miscellaneous Provisions", to follow immediately after Section
