1648                             Joint Resolutions

Whereas, The problem requires further study; now, therefore,
be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Governor,
the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Delegates
be requested to re-appoint the special commission to study the water
resources problem in Maryland; and be it further

Resolved, That on this commission, there shall be re-appointed four
persons representing agricultural interests, including a representa-
tive from the Maryland Farm Bureau, a representative from the
Maryland State Grange, the President of the Maryland Association
of Soil Conservation District Supervisors and the Chairman of the
Maryland State Soil Conservation Committee; four persons repre-
senting industrial interest, including representatives from the Balti-
more Association of Commerce, the Cumberland Chamber of Com-
merce, the Frederick Chamber of Commerce and the Maryland Pack-
ing Industry; four persons representing municipal and public health
interest, including representatives from the Maryland Municipal
League, the Association of County Commissioners, the State Board
of Health and the Director of the Department of Geology, Mines and
Water Resources; four persons representing sporting and recrea-
tional interests, including a representative from the Maryland State
Division of the Isaac Walton League, a representative of the League
of Maryland Sportsmen, the Director of the Department of Forests
and Parks and the President of the Maryland Travel Council; and
four members of the General Assembly of Maryland, one representing
agricultural interests, one representing industrial interests, one
representing municipal and public health interests and one represent-
ing sporting and recreational interests; and be it further

Resolved, That the Governor be requested to allot funds to this
commission from contingent monies at his disposal, in order that the
commission may publish its findings and report; and be it further

Resolved, That the special commission be requested to reorganize
promptly and to begin its work, in order that it may report by
September 1, 19578 to the Governor, the members of the General
Assembly and to the Legislative Council, including in the report such
findings and recommendations as it may deem desirable.
