his appointment as Commissioner of Motor Vehicles and requesting
that he not resign from the Senate until the end of the 1957 Legis-
lative Session.
Whereas, Honorable James B. Monroe, a member of the Senate
of Maryland from Charles County has recently been appointed by the
Governor to the post of Commissioner of Motor Vehicles of Mary-
land; and
Whereas, Senator Monroe is a man of wide experience with an
excellent record in the legislature, having been a member of the House
of Delegates from his county from 1935 to 1945 and a member of
the Senate from 1946 to the present time and a member of the Legis-
lative Council from 1939 to 1945, 1951, 1955 and 1956; and
Whereas, His colleagues from both political parties and in both
houses of the General Assembly of Maryland have grown to admire

congratulates and commends Senator James B. Monroe upon the
occasion of being appointed Commissioner of Motor Vehicles of Mary-
