the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition) title "Motor Ve-
hicles", sub-title "Operation of Vehicles upon Highways", said new
sub-section to be known as (3) and to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 280 (2) of said Article and to read as follows:

(3) No individual, firm, corporation or other person, whether
the owner of a truck, the person in charge and control over the same,
or employee, or agent of any such owner shall use State highways
within the State of Maryland for the purpose of testing, either for
durability, speed, fuel consumption or otherwise, such vehicle (with-
out first obtaining from the State Roads Commission a permit there-
for. The State Roads Commission is hereby authorized to issue such
a permit provided in its judgment the roads over which the test will
be conducted will not be unduly damaged, or that the safety of the
traveling public will not be materially adversely affected by such
test. The State Roads Commission shall designate in said permit the
route, the day and the hour when such tests shall be conducted. The
said Commission shall have the further authority to impose such
additional regulations and limitations as are consistent with the best
interest of the safety of the traveling public and consistent with the
continued durability of the highways under its jurisdiction. A per-
mit fee of ten dollars ($10.00)
TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($25.00)
FOR EACH VEHICLE shall be charged for each such permit
Any individual, firm, corporation or other person, whether the owner
of such vehicle, the person in charge and control over the same, or
employee, or agent, who shall test trucks over State Highways with-
out first obtaining the permit above mentioned or who shall violate the
provisions of said permit shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than One Hundred Dollars
($100.00) for each such offense.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 104

(Senate Bill 218)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 156 (A)
and Section 156 (F) of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Testamentary Law", sub-title "Settle-
ment of Small Estates", changing the value of assets providing
for the settlement of small estates to assets which do not exceed
$1,000.00.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

notated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Testamentary
