Whereas, It is desirable to repeal the duplicating provision in
Section 463 of Article 27 in order to allow this subject to be covered
under the marriage laws in Article 62 of the Code; now, therefore;

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 463 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Marrying
Unlawfully", be and it is hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

Approved January 28, 1957.

CHAPTER 11
(Senate Bill 53)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 42 of
Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact", sub-title "Attor-
neys in Fact", removing from said Section 42 a reference to its
being effective for six months after the termination of the war
which began on December 7, 1941, and validating any powers of
attorney or other instruments of agency executed or created under
the provisions of this section following the definitive termination
of World War 2.

Whereas, Section 42 of Article 10 of the Code as amended by
Chapter 688 of the Acts of 1943 contained certain provisions for the
application of powers of attorney or other instruments of agency
executed or created after December 7, 1941, "and until six months
after the termination of the present war", and

Whereas, the State Law Department has ruled that the definitive
termination of World War 2 occurred on April 28, 1952, thus creat-
ing doubt about the validification and workings of this section since
that time, and

Whereas, it is desirable to eliminate in said section the reference
to the termination of the war and to validate any powers of attorney
or other instruments of agency executed or created after that time
under the provisions of this section; now, therefore,

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 42 of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact",
sub-title "Attorneys in Fact", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
