ing to the wording for which provision is made in Section 94 (i) of
this Article, accompanied by the words "For" and "Against" or by
the words "Yes" and "No".

123.   Custody of Voting Machines. The Board of Election Super-
visors shall appoint a custodian of voting machines and a deputy
custodian whose duty it shall be to prepare the machines for use.
The custodian and deputy custodian shall be appointed respectively
from each of the two leading political parties and their compensation
shall be fixed by the Board of Election Supervisors.

124.   Preparation of Voting Machines. (a) Duties of Custodian.
The custodian and deputy custodians of voting machines shall pre-
pare the voting machines for election purposes as hereinafter pro-
vided and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the
Board. Not less than five days nor more than twenty days before an
election, such custodians, in the presence of at least two members of
the Board having opposite party affiliations, shall prepare the voting
machines, including such reserve number of machines as the Board
may deem necessary, by setting all registering counters, except the
protective counter, at zero (000), placing the proper ballot labels
on the machines locking the machines and removing the keys there-
from, and sealing each of said machines with a numbered seal so
placed that the operating lever of each machine cannot be moved with-
out destroying said seal.

(b)  Notice to Local Party Committees. On or before the thirtieth
day preceding an election, the said Board shall mail to the chairman
of the city or county committee, as the case may be, of each political
party entitled under existing law to participate in primary elec-
tions within such city or county, a written notice stating the times
when and the place or places where the machines for use in the
several polling places in the city or county will be so prepared for
use as above provided. At such times and places, one representative
of each of such political parties, certified by the respective chairmen
of the city or county committees of such parties, shall be entitled to
be present and to see that the machines are properly prepared and
placed in proper condition and order for use.

(c)  Custodian's Certification. The custodian and deputy custo-
dians shall make and sign a certificate in writing, and request each
party representative present at the preparation of the machine to
attest the same, which shall be filed with the Board of Supervisors of
Elections, stating (1) the identifying number or other designation
of the voting machines; (2) that each registering counter of the
machine was set at zero (000); (3) the number appearing on the
exposed counter which registers every consecutive operation of the
machine; (4) the number on the seal with which the machine has
been sealed; (5) that the keys for each machine have been sealed in
separate envelopes identified by the serial number of the voting
machine; (6) the date and place of the inspection and preparation
of such machine and that the proper ballot-labels have been installed
thereon. Each machine sealed as in this section provided shall re-
main locked and sealed until the time of examination immediately
preceding the opening of the polls, as hereinafter provided.

125.   Delivery of Voting Machines. (a) Required. The Board of
Supervisors of Elections shall deliver the proper voting machine or
