Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the jurisdiction of the
Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is hereby extended to
include the area AREAS above described and said area AREAS shall
be subject to all the rules and regulations of the Commission and all
provisions of law relating to said District, including taxes and other
sums or charges levied by said Commission in other parts of said Dis-
trict.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 669
(House Bill 734)
AN ACT to add new Sub-section 464 (b) (34) (38) to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953 Edition, being
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Prince George's County", sub-title "County Commissioners", to
follow immediately after Sub-section 464 (b) (33) (37) thereof,
relating to the power of the County Commissioners of Prince
George's County to provide a merit system for county employees.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sub-section 464 (b) (34) (38) be and it is hereby added to
the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953 Edi-
tion, being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Prince George's County", sub-title "County Commissioners", to
follow immediately after Sub-section 464 (b) (33) (37) thereof, and
to read as follows:

(34) (38) Provide for a merit system for such county employees as
the commissioners shall determine and to enact rules and regulations
therefor.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
